Product Description
This 1983 Gibson Explorer is all original with the exception of the pickup configuration and the strap buttons. The original bridge pickup was moved to the middle position, and a Gibson Burstbucker #1 was put in the bridge. A push/pull knob that adds the middle pickup to whichever pickup you're using was added as well. The strap buttons were replaced with large black Dunlop buttons, and the originals are included. The top button was moved from behind the neck joint to the bass side shoulder. The rest of this guitar is all original. The Pearl White finished has faded to a nice creamy off-white. The Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge is in great shape and the original Grovers don't show any signs of slowing down. The neck is decently fat and rounded, similar to a 335. The pickups are hot and responsive and the all-mahogany body makes for days of sustain. This was Joe Bonamassa's guitar for a while, and some documentation on that is included: a DVD of him playing the guitar, a plane stub with his name on it, and a statement of ownership letter. This is one of the fastest, hottest Explorers we've ever played!
